Version 1.0 — 28 June 2026
GENŌ Intelligentia Limited ("GENO", "we", "us", "our") operates a digital platform (the "Platform") that connects people and businesses who wish to send parcels and goods ("Senders") with independent self-employed drivers ("Drivers") who deliver them. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and your rights.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this Policy. If you have any questions or wish to exercise your rights, contact us at info@genomove.com.
1. Who this Policy applies to
This Policy applies to:
- Senders — people and businesses who book deliveries;
- Drivers — independent contractors who deliver;
- Recipients — the people parcels are delivered to, whose details are provided to us by a Sender;
- Guests — people who book a delivery without creating a full account;
- Visitors to our websites.
2. The personal data we collect
From Senders and account holders: name, email address, phone number, password (stored only in a securely hashed form, never in plain text), country, saved pickup/delivery addresses, booking history, parcel details you enter, ratings and reviews you give, and messages you send through the Platform.
From Drivers: the above account information, plus date of birth, home address, country, vehicle type(s), driving licence category, and uploaded documents such as proof of identity, proof of address, driving licence, vehicle registration, right-to-work evidence, insurance, and (optionally) a background check certificate. We also store your verification status, ratings, and delivery history.
From Recipients (provided by Senders): when a Sender books a delivery, they provide the recipient's name, phone number, email address, and delivery address so the delivery can be completed. If you are a recipient, this information is given to us by the Sender on your behalf.
Location data: when a Driver is performing an active delivery, we process the Driver's GPS location to enable live tracking of the delivery. Senders and recipients see the approximate driver location during an active delivery.
Payment information: payment card details are collected directly by our payment processor (Stripe) in your browser and never reach or are stored on GENO's servers. We store only a payment reference (a token) and the amount. Driver bank/payout details are collected directly by Stripe during payout onboarding and are held by Stripe, not by us.
Technical data: a single essential cookie used to keep you signed in (see our Cookie Policy). We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies.
3. How we use your data and our lawful bases
We use personal data to:
- provide the Platform and complete deliveries (lawful basis: performance of a contract);
- verify Drivers and check eligibility, for safety and to protect users (lawful bases: contract, legal obligation, and our legitimate interest in a safe and trustworthy platform);
- process payments and pay Drivers (lawful basis: contract);
- send transactional communications such as booking confirmations, delivery updates, and invoices (lawful basis: contract);
- provide customer support and resolve disputes (lawful basis: legitimate interests);
- maintain security, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep records (lawful bases: legitimate interests and legal obligation);
- comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations (lawful basis: legal obligation).
We do not use your data for advertising or sell your data to anyone.
4. Who we share your data with
We share personal data only as needed to run the Platform, with the following categories of recipients:
- Other users of the Platform, as necessary for a delivery — for example a Driver receives the pickup and delivery addresses and recipient contact details for a job they accept; a Sender and recipient see the assigned Driver's details and approximate location during an active delivery.
- Stripe — our payment processor, for taking payments, paying Drivers, and fraud prevention. Stripe collects card and bank details directly and acts as a controller/processor in respect of payment data under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Resend — our email delivery provider, which processes the content of transactional emails (such as recipient email address and booking details) to send them.
- Google — we use Google's Maps, Places, and Geocoding services to turn addresses into map locations and to help with address entry and routing. Address text and location coordinates are sent to Google for these purposes.
- OpenStreetMap and routing services (including OSRM) — used to display maps and calculate delivery distances; map and routing requests involve location coordinates.
- Content delivery networks (such as unpkg / Cloudflare) — your browser loads mapping software from these networks when you use the booking map, which involves your IP address and browser information.
- Our hosting provider (Hetzner) — which stores our database and files on secure servers (see section 6).
- Authorities, regulators, and professional advisers — where we are legally required to disclose information, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- A buyer or successor — if our business is sold or reorganised, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We require our service providers to protect personal data and to use it only for the purposes for which we engage them.
5. International transfers
GENO is based in the United Kingdom. Some of our service providers (for example Stripe, Resend, and Google) may process data outside the UK and EEA. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses).
6. Where your data is stored
Our database and uploaded files (including Driver documents) are hosted on servers operated by Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany (within the European Economic Area). Driver identity documents are stored on our secured server file system. We take a regular backup of our database and files.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data for as long as you have an account and use the Platform, and afterwards for as long as we need it to comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Payment and financial records are generally retained for at least seven years to meet financial and tax requirements. Where data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), where there is no overriding legal reason for us to keep it;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- data portability — receive certain data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on consent;
- complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
To exercise any of these rights, email info@genomove.com. We currently action these requests manually and will respond within the time limits required by law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some data may be retained where we have a legal obligation or legitimate need to keep it (for example payment records).
9. Recipients' data
If you are a recipient of a parcel, your contact and address details were provided to us by the Sender so we could deliver to you. You have the same rights set out in section 8. If you wish to know more about who sent us your details or to exercise your rights, contact us at info@genomove.com.
10. Children
The Platform is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country) to register as a Sender or Driver.
11. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls, and storing payment and bank details with our specialist payment processor rather than on our own systems. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any incident.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. The version date at the top shows when it was last updated.
